Maintain healthy teeth and gums with regular check-ups, scaling and polishing, and preventive care

General Dentistry

We provide comprehensive dental care to keep your teeth and gums in healthy condition. It includes routine check-ups, professional cleanings, and procedures like fillings to keep your teeth and gums healthy for the long term.

Whether it is for prevention or early treatment, our goal is to help you enjoy a confident, comfortable smile at every stage of life.

Comprehensive Dental Examination

Your dentist will perform a detailed oral examination of your teeth, gums, soft tissues, jaw, and overall oral health. This examination helps identify early signs of dental problems such as tooth decay, gum disease, infections, oral cancer or bite issues.

The examination may involve:

  • Diagnostic X-rays to identify hidden decay or bone loss
  • Periodontal (Gum) assessment
  • Tooth by tooth inspection for decay, cracks, defective fillings, worn teeth
  • Oral cancer screening (lips, tongue, palate, throat)
  • Discussion of findings and treatment plan

Scaling and Polishing

Regular dental cleanings are essential to achieving good long-term oral health. At The Dental Touch, we provide thorough, gentle cleanings to help prevent decay, gum disease, and other oral health conditions before they become serious.

What Happens During a Cleaning?

Our dentist uses an ultrasonic instrument to remove plaque, tartar, and surface stains from your teeth- especially in areas that are hard to reach with brushing or flossing. After scaling, a polishing procedure is performed which helps to further remove stains and leaves your teeth smooth and shiny.

Does Scaling And Polishing Hurt?

Scaling is usually not painful, though you might feel some pressure or mild sensitivity, especially if your gums are inflamed or if there is thick tartar buildup. Most patients find it very manageable, and we can always apply a numbing gel if needed to keep you comfortable.

Dental Fillings

Tooth decay, or cavities, is one of the most common dental problems. It is the breakdown of a tooth’s hard structure (enamel and dentine), caused by bacteria in the mouth. Bacteria feeds on sugars from foods and drinks in your mouth, and produce acids that gradually erode your teeth, leaving holes or soft spots in them.

What are Dental Fillings?

Dental fillings are used to repair teeth that have been damaged by decay, cracks, or wear. The process involves carefully removing the affected area and filling it with a durable material to restore the tooth’s function and appearance.

At our clinic, we use aesthetic, tooth-coloured composite or glass ionomer materials that are durable and blends in naturally with your tooth. We also offer dental amalgam filling replacement for patients who are concerned with mercury content or poor aesthetics of their existing amalgam fillings.

When Do You Need a Dental Filling?

  • Have a cavity caused by tooth decay
  • Tooth sensitivity to hot, cold or sweet foods
  • Experience pain when chewing
  • Notice dark spots on tooth surface
  • Have a cracked or worn-down tooth
  • Food getting stuck between teeth
  • To replace a broken or defective old filling

Notice any of the above signs or symptoms? Don’t let cavities go untreated—

They can progress into more serious issues like infections or root canal treatment. Early treatment with a dental filling can save your tooth and smile.
